Easter Candy Abound

Easter is a few weeks away, which means Easter candy is already on the shelves of all our favourite food stores and convenience shops. Here is a snip-it from Women’s Health Magazine weighing in on alternate candy choices:

A Tisket, A Tasket

More than 90 million chocolate bunnies will make their way into Easter baskets this year. At more than 1,000 calories per jumbo hare, you would have to do a lot of hopping to burn one off. But dig through that shiny plastic grass and you might find an appealing alternative- just take a look at how other springtime sweets stack up:

150 calories: You can have one Cadbury Creme Egg or six rolls of Easter Smarties

180 calories: You can have two Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs or 22 jelly beans

270 calories: You can have a two ounce milk-chocolate bunny or 8.3 Marshmallow Peeps Bunnies

Want to burn off those extra snack calories?

To burn off one Cadbury Creme Egg, you could jump-rope for 15 minutes, or go for a 30 minute walk.

To burn off two Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, you could bike for 45 minutes, or take a 30 minute aerobics class.

To burn off a two ounce milk-chocolate bunny, you could pound on a punching bag for 45 minutes, or take a 60 minute power yoga class.
